I am on a quest to get in touch with the child within in regards to my art. This made it a reachable goal. I loved Patt’s teaching: It was direct and very clear. I really felt it was time well spent, and a lot of fun too! I recommend this course!

Even someone who had been painting for years would appreciate all the information provided. My only positive comment would be that after you get to the negative painting and have finished flowers you jump ahead saying you had added more background but I would have like to have it explained with the colour you used, transparent or opaque paint etc. Thanks Patt.......really enjoying this and learning so much from you always. I really appreciate how you help us and walk thru and questions we have on Facebook. Excellent course material.

Acrylic Paint - a variety of warm and cool colours plus white. I like both Zinc (semi-transparent) and Titanium (opaque)
Student or professional grade paint is fine. Craft paint will not give you the rich results.
Acrylic Gloss or Satin Medium
Any brand is fine, it comes in a bottle and is fluid - this is used to seal your work and make it all one sheen.
Substrate
You can either use paper or a stretched canvas.
Paper - I like Strathmore Mixed Media Paper
Mark Making Tools
Check out your recycle bin for anything that has a texture and can be used as a stamp or stencil.
Look around a dollar store or hardware store.
Here are some ideas:
Stencils
Not necessary but if you have them they may come in handy.
Stamps
Stamps make our of fun foam, linocuts, or ready-made stamps all will work.
Pens
Squeeze Bottles
Fine Liner - comes with a bottle you can fill or as a top that fits on Golden's 2 oz. bottle.
Small bottles with nozzle - dollar store, craft supply or hairdresser.
